Ohio Republicans received an early voting estimate Thursday as a Senate model showed their party ahead among classified ballots. Election analyst E DataGuy posted his October 22 update covering 838,018 early and mail ballots.
His graphic assigned 469,219 ballots to Republicans and 360,979 to Democrats, with another 4,092 classified separately.
That produced a modeled Republican advantage of 108,240 ballots, described in the graphic as a firewall.
Race Leans Republican According to Analyst Model
The analyst characterized the race as leaning Republican, an assessment rather than an election result. His projected Republican vote range extended from 52% to 58%, compared with 41% to 47% for Democrats.
The graphic also estimated final turnout at 55%, a projection that cannot be verified before Election Day.
The analyst’s partisan classifications rely on modeling, and the screenshot does not explain its full methodology.

National Attention Focused on Ohio Senate Race
The race has drawn extraordinary attention from national parties and outside political organizations.

The analyst’s model provides a potentially encouraging Republican indicator, not a guaranteed victory.
Ohio has supported Republican presidential candidates in recent elections, although statewide Senate contests remain competitive.
Republican Financial Strength in Final Campaign Phase
The outcome will depend on ballots actually cast and counted, not projections shared online.
Republicans also possess financial resources for the closing phase of the midterm campaign.
President Donald Trump’s political operation has supplied a major share of that fundraising and advertising capacity.
His flagship super PAC, MAGA Inc., began September with nearly $416 million available, according to federal filings.
MAGA Inc. transferred $200 million to No Going Back PAC and $25 million to Safety and Affordability PAC. The Associated Press reported that Trump-aligned groups have spent nearly $277 million since September, including major committee transfers.

The stakes extend well beyond Ohio. Major contributors identified in reporting included Elon Musk, Diane Hendricks, Stephen Schwarzman, and Steve Wynn.
Republican national party committees also reported strong financial positions relative to their Democratic counterparts.
Reuters reported three major Republican committees ended September with $187 million in cash.
GOP Committees Outpace Democratic Fundraising Efforts
Republican committees also disclosed roughly $20 million in debt, compared with nearly $15 million for Democrats.
Between July and September, Republican committees spent approximately $137 million on coordinated congressional campaign activities.
Democratic committees spent approximately $55 million on comparable activities during the same period, Reuters reported.
A June Supreme Court ruling expanded coordinated spending opportunities for both parties, with Republicans deploying greater amounts.
A Federal Communications Commission policy change also expanded discounted broadcast advertising access for party committees. The National Republican Congressional Committee separately announced $50 million raised during the third quarter.
NRCC Reports Strong Third Quarter Performance
The NRCC entered October with $61 million on hand, according to its October 20 announcement.
Its September fundraising reached $28.5 million, including a $14 million transfer from the Republican National Committee.
The committee reported approximately $250 million raised throughout the election cycle to that point.
Those NRCC resources primarily support House races rather than Husted’s individual Senate campaign.
The Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio (FOP), the largest law enforcement union in Ohio, also recently endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy and Rob McColley for governor and lieutenant governor of Ohio.
Police Union Endorses Republican Ticket
In response to the endorsement, Vivek released the following statement:
“I am very honored to receive today’s endorsement from the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio (FOP). This is a big deal and a monumental endorsement – from the largest union representing police officers in our state – after they went through a rigorous process with both candidates. Grateful for the support of law enforcement across Ohio. We’re behind you all the way as we restore law and order in our communities and proudly back the blue.”
